This was a fun project for me, as I was able to wood-burn a ribbon pattern on the handle for appearance and additional grip.
This maple wood burned mallet measures 8.5" in length, with a head size of 3"x2". The handle is designed to be slipped out in case the need to replace it becomes apparent.
The handle is crafted of maple, while the head is of maple and oak.
