5/6/2018 1 Comment Rainy SundayIt's a spring rain today, and with the twin chess cabinets resting after the finishing process and no pressing client orders, now seemed a perfect time to sit back, relax and update the website. Look for new items listed in all categories, with some one-of-a-kind special offerings available as well.
I do enjoy working in the shop during light rain showers, as the air is clean and reinvigorates me to no end. Perhaps it will continue on through tomorrow and I'll be able to finally open up the doors and remove the dryness of winter. Fingers crossed. In the works for the next few weeks are a series of chess cabinets for stock, some simple ornaments to prepare for the Christmas season (I know, already?) and perhaps a few more boxes. Once everything is completed, look for them to be added to the site in the days to come. As it stands, I have perhaps 30 or so items that remain to be photographed and listed, so if there's something you're looking for that's not up right now, chances are it's coming soon. If you follow us on Instagram (and you should), you've seen the pictures taken at Jenness Farm in Nottingham, NH. Jenness is a small, family owned shop that creates fantastic goat-milk products, including a line of lotions my wife swears by so much she has a standing order at our local Agway where they are locally sold. In the spring season, when the kids (goats and human) are abound with energy, the shop lets the little ones bounce and scamper throughout the store. Guests can also head out back to pet and feed the goats in an idyllic New Hampshire farm setting. Jenness Farm is also unique in that they offer yoga classes with goats. Yoga with goats. Check out their website if you don't believe me.

5/3/2018 0 Comments A Solid DayWe had a pretty solid day in the shop, starting with a custom checker board slab with live edges heading out to a waiting client. I love doing these- it's a three day turn around with pyrography, stains, sanding and finish and the end result always looks stunning. We have a larger version set up on our bar.
We also started the first coat of poly on a client's twin chess cabinets. Two more days and those will be posted as well- She had a great idea for Father's Day, which entailed ordering matching sets. One for herself, and one for her dad so they can play correspondence chess. I'm looking forward to hearing her father's reaction when he opens it. For the next few days, I figure I'll be working on some boxes for stock, while at the same time updating our current items on the website. It looks like the site will take as much time as the workshop, but I'm ok with that. After all, it's something I do for other people so doing it for myself will be a breeze, right? Look for more images on our Insta feed over at About Us, and plenty of finished products coming your way for purchase. Don't forget Mother's Day is just around the corner and we ship where ever you wish with a nice, handwritten note as a courtesy:) The day is drawing to an end, and I've some snuggling planned with my better half. Enjoy this early glimpse of summer, and I'll see you around the workshop! 5/2/2018 1 Comment So We Finally Did It...Though NH Woodworks has been a place where good people could find great heirlooms for a while now, it was becoming painfully obvious that not having an online shop and information hub was holding us back. So, as of today, we can proudly say we have joined the online community and have developed our very own website.
Here, we will share DIY tips, photos from the shop, project ideas, shout-outs and a calendar of sorts of where you can find us in the real world, whether it be crafts fairs, farmers markets or galleries. Stay tuned and enjoy the ride! Todd & Wendie |
